Terms & Conditions
1. All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
2. Please be aware that the legal status of our entire private hire taxi driver fleet is self-employed and they are not employees of Crown Cars. Customers should always book their journeys via our App, Website or our telephone number otherwise; the journeys will not be insured.
3. You must order a suitable car size for the number of passengers and luggage. Crown Taxis cannot guarantee to carry excessive amounts of luggage. Please note that a child, no matter what age, counts as one passenger.
4. Crown Taxis does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free. Use of the services provided by Crown Taxis is done so entirely at one’s own risk and discretion. Crown Taxis does not guarantee the availability of a taxi at any time, or the availability of the service. Crown Taxis shall use all reasonable endeavours to pick you up and get you to your destination on time, but shall not be liable for any loss due to delays beyond its control. Under no circumstances shall Crown Taxis be liable (in contract, tort or otherwise) for any loss of profits, business or for any indirect or consequential loss whatever.
5. The Company and driver reserve the right to decline any bookings or ask to pay for taxi services up front and also to request any passenger(s) to leave the vehicle if it is deemed his/her conduct is incompatible with the safety of the driver.
6. It is a Criminal Offence knowingly getting into a taxi & not having payment for the journey taken. Failure to pay will result in the Police being notified & we will submit to the Police all your personal details held by us.
7. You shall be responsible for the behaviour of all the passengers in the vehicle during the journey. You will be charged accordingly to cover cleaning costs in the unlikely event of the vehicle being soiled by any passenger!
8. Any damage caused to the interior/exterior of any of our vehicles by the passenger(s) will be charged accordingly.
9. Eating, drinking and smoking in the cars are not permitted.
10. Crown Taxis will not carry more passengers than its insurance or licensing allows.
11. All luggage’s and personal belongings are carried entirely at your risk. Crown Cars will not be responsible for loss or damage caused to any items whilst in the vehicle.
12. All children travelling during the journey should be restrained in a manner appropriate to their age, weight and height. UK law states that taxis are exempt from legislation relating to children travelling in a baby/child seat or booster. For Health and Safety reasons Crown Taxis are unable to provide any form of child seat. If you require a child seat for your journey it would be the child’s parent/carers responsibility to provide one and to fit the seat in the vehicle and to secure the child. If you are booking a return journey and have your own child seat, the driver who carries out your booking will not store your child seat for the return journey, please note that the installation of the child seat must be carried out by you.
13. Crown Taxis shall be entitled to cancel all services and provide refunds in the event of a declared national emergency, riot, war, fuel shortage, extreme weather or terrorist attack, or other circumstances beyond its control. If the car breaks down during your journey Crown Taxis will endeavour to arrange an alternative car to complete the journey as soon as practicable.
14. If you have a problem or complaint it is essential that you inform the driver immediately. If you wish to make a formal complaint, please notify our office in writing no later than 7 working days after your journey.
15. Without prior notice Crown Cars reserves the right to amend, change, delete or add to these terms and conditions whenever it deems it necessary.
16. Any quoted fare pick up or journey times are best estimates and CROWN CARS shall have no liability if a pick up or journey time exceeds any estimate given or otherwise exceeds the Customer’s or the passenger(s)’ expectations for whatever reason.
17. Surcharges may apply during Busy peak times, traffic hours, special events, festive seasons, bad weather, road closures and diversions.
Surge pricing is also specific to different areas, demand, and general availability of vehicles.
Drivers may have to travel from further away so the fares will be enhanced, increased, or fixed to reflect the situation at the time.
18. Surcharges apply Friday & Saturday 22.00pm-06.00am and Sunday-Thursday midnight -06.00am.
19. Any customer who fails to cancel their taxi once the vehicle has arrived will be charged a minimum Call Out fee which is reflected on the pick up location/distance traveled. Once arrived the customer will be allowed 3 minutes before the driver confirms a No Show and the charge is applied.
20. Clean air zone, airport pick up and airport drop off charges will apply.
21. Fastest route is not always the shortest, using motorways may result in more mileage and fare increase.
22. Congestion Charges will be applied when traveling to, from or through Congestion Zones.
